Vocation, Leisure and the Arts (VLA)
The Aims of VLA at Ravenshall
At Ravenshall School, we offer more than a national curriculum. We offer a wide range of activities for all students from all year groups. VLA helps students to develop their interests and abilities, provides valuable learning experiences outside their studies, embeds skills for life programmes and promotes independence and interpersonal links with students in other years.
Through the wide range of activities available to all pupils, they can build on their cultural capital alongside developing essential skills required to be successful in adult life. Pupils can choose activities based on their strengths, interests, and aspirations. The impact of these activities are monitored through assessment of individual pupil progress towards their termly holistic targets.
“Exciting”, “interesting”, “challenging” and “fun” are just a few of the words that have been used to describe the VLA programme at Ravenshall School.
Here is a list of the activities currently on offer in Primary and Key Stage 3.
