Information and support

Here you will find links to information and support about Safeguarding at Ravenshall

‘Leaders have established a strong culture of safeguarding in the school. The school’s motto of ‘safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility’ is clearly demonstrated by staff and valued by parents.’

(Ofsted, February 2019)

Safeguarding children and young people is an absolute priority at Ravenshall School.  We have a Safeguarding Policy which is reviewed annually. Staff and governors are required to access appropriate training from the LA’s accredited trainer and this is updated regularly.  We participate in the LA’s annual Safeguarding Audit.

There is a Designated Senior Lead, six Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads and a Nominated Governor for safeguarding.  Additionally, our Headteacher Mrs J Tate is a member of the Kirklees Safeguarding Children Board.

Ravenshall School is registered with the DfE as a 4-19 school, which means we have adult learners as well as children in school. Their safeguarding needs are met through school policies and procedures, however, Kirklees Adult Safeguarding Board provides information, advice, guidance and support.
