In April 2024, work started to create a sensory garden in an unused courtyard in school.  The sensory garden is fully grant funded and will give children and young people a space to explore, develop fine and gross motor skills and relax and self-regulate.

The project will be completed in three parts; stage one - the development of the courtyard area with a sensory swing, exploration trays and a quiet space with a water feature.  Stage two will create a sensory hammock and musical instruments area and, finally children and young people will have the opportunity to build and create planters that stimulate the senses, and we will install a living wall all as part of stage three. The planters and living wall will give children the chance to grow their own food.
