Safeguarding
‘Leaders have established a strong culture of safeguarding in the school. The school’s motto of ‘safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility’ is clearly demonstrated by staff and valued by parents.’ Ofsted, (2019)
Safeguarding children and young people is an absolute priority at Ravenshall School. We have our Safeguarding Policy which is reviewed annually. Staff and governors are required to access appropriate training from the LA’s accredited trainer and this is updated regularly. We participate in the LA’s annual Safeguarding Audit.
There is a Designated Senior Lead, eight Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads and a Nominated Governor for safeguarding.
Ravenshall School is registered with the DfE as a 4-19 school, which means we have adult learners as well as children in school. Their safeguarding needs are met through school policies and procedures, however, Kirklees Adult Safeguarding Board provides information, advice, guidance and support.
