We are committed to promoting good attendance ensuring every pupil has access to the full-time education to which they are entitled.

We work hard to build strong relationships with families and by working together reduce any barriers to good attendance.

Phase Leaders hold weekly assemblies where an attendance award is given to the class with the highest attendance.

Absence

What is a persistent absentee?

When your child’s attendance drops below 90%, in line with authority guidelines they are classed as a ‘persistent absentee’. At this stage an initial letter will be sent out in case we need to explore opportunities for support of that young person and their family. Further procedural information is explained in the attendance policy.

Holidays in term time

An application must be made in advance to the Head Teacher should you want to take your child out of school during term time. The Head Teacher is only allowed to authorise Leave of Absence during term time for exceptional circumstances. You can be fined for taking your child on holiday during term time without the school's permission.
